President Cristina Fernàndez flies today to Brasilia, to attend on Wednesday the first summit between heads of state of the BRICS countries and the UNASUR, in the first official political contact among them.

Cristina departs from Rio Gallegos, where she traveled to attend the first birthday of her grandson Nestor Ivan.

The schedule of the joint meeting starts with a welcome speech by the host, President Dilma Rousseff, to be followed by the plenary meeting and then a luncheon at Itamaraty, the Brazilian Foreign Ministry.

Some of the BRICS heads of state are already in Brasilia, among them Putin, who met with Rousseff to review a bilateral agenda. Most of the Presidents of UNASUR and of CELAC (Community of Latin American and Caribbean States) will start arriving today.

The meeting with UNASUR will be held following BRICS´s summit that opens today in Fortaleza.
